Fall Winterizing
Protect your fish and equipment before the cold sets in.
Why winterizing matters
Winter is hard on ponds that are not prepared. We net the pond, cut back plants, clear falling leaves, and shut the system down correctly so your koi and goldfish are protected through the cold months.
Done right, winterizing prevents the most common cold-weather damage and makes spring far simpler. Done wrong, or skipped, it can cost you fish and equipment.

Our 5-step process
Here is how a job usually goes.
Net the pond
We install netting to keep falling leaves out, which is the single biggest favor you can do your pond before winter.
Cut back and clean up plants
We trim back aquatic plants and clear dying foliage so it does not rot in the water over the winter.
Clear debris and leaves
We remove the debris already in the pond so it does not break down under the ice.
Shut the system down correctly
Depending on your setup, we prepare the pump for winter running or shut it down and protect it from freezing.
Protect the equipment
Pumps, filters, and UV units that come out for winter are cleaned, drained, and stored so they last.
What it will cost
Every pond is different, so we do not quote it blind. We come take a look at yours, then put a price in writing. A lot of folks keep theirs on a care plan so the water stays clear without them thinking about it.
